Program Description

The Sky Center specializes in counseling youth and their families who may be experiencing a number of difficulties and behaviors associated with increased suicide risk. Youth are referred for school difficulties, depressed mood, suicidal thoughts, family conflict and loss, substance use, bullying, and a number of other related issues. Counselors specialize in culturally sensitive family treatment with the goal of empowering young people and their families to cope with the stress of painful and traumatic events as well as the everyday pressures and challenges of this modern age.

Referrals are accepted from a variety of sources, including schools, protective service agencies, juvenile justice, healthcare providers, case management agencies as well as self-referral by individuals and families. Since 1998, thousands of New Mexico youths and their families have received free counseling.
